Down in the forestside
Down in the snow
Mitten in mitten
Together they go
Down by the partridges
Down by the vale
Evening grows dim
And their shadows grow pale
As their snowprints entwine
As she walks with her love,
As the northern lights shine
In the heavens above,
His touch bears their bond
Which no troubles can sever
They pair as the wind blows:
Forever and ever
But soon they'll head home
As the day's growing old
For they are yet children
And winter is cold
